Higher Education Support Act 2003 Guidelines

The HESA 2003 guidelines are delegated legislation authorised by the Act and must be presented to both Houses of the Parliament. They can be disallowed (vetoed) by a motion agreed to by either House of Parliament within 15 sitting days of tabling.

Transitional Arrangements for Students Guidelines

The Transitional Arrangements for Students Guidelines contain arrangements which will apply from 2005 to HECS and PELS students. The Guidelines include requirements on:

  • circumstances not amounting to a discontinuance of enrolment

  • when a person is taken to have commenced a course of study

The Transitional Arrangements for Students Guidelines are available for information. The consultation phase concluded on 24 May 2004. The Guidelines were gazetted on 27 July 2004. Amendment No. 1 to the Transitional Arrangement for Students Guidelines was gazetted on 15 October 2004.
