appendix b - Calculation of benchmark for indigenous students in higher education

If the age-specific participation rates of the Australian population were applied to the Indigenous population, then the expected share of Indigenous students in the overall student population

where:

Si = the number of domestic students in the i^th age group
pop_i = the number of Australian persons in the i^th age group
pop (indig)_i = the number of Indigenous persons in the i^th age group
